Renowned practitioner Yves Derains will deliver the opening keynote address
The Arbitration Commission of the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), chaired by Jorge Azagra, will host the VIII International Arbitration Congress on October 22 and 23, 2026, in Barcelona (283 Mallorca) under the theme "Quo Vadis Arbitration". The Congress will analyze how technology, the Rule of Law, the EU, and soft law are reshaping —and will continue to reshape— arbitral practice and procedure.
Renowned practitioner Yves Derains will deliver the opening keynote address. The Scientific Committee will be presided over by José Rosell, with sessions moderated by Clàudia Baró, Josep Gálvez, Isabel Mateu, and Oriol Valentí.
Designed for arbitrators, lawyers, in-house lawyers, academics, and professionals engaged in dispute resolution, the Congress will provide a practical forum to examine current trends and anticipate the evolution of international arbitration in a rapidly changing global environment.
This event, organized by the Arbitration Commission of the Barcelona Bar Association, has become a must-attend event for the arbitration community and legal and business professionals.
